The BEDC Online Community is a password-protected website that only allows registered members to post and edit content on most sections of the website. The only exception to this is the blog section, where articles can only be written by registered users, but comments can be posted by anyone. Because the content of this website is produced and controlled by all members of the BEDC Online Community, the views and information presented on this site do not necessarily reflect those of the Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation.

Protecting your privacy is important to us. We hope the following statement will help you understand how the BEDC Online Community collects, uses and safeguards the personal information you provide to us on our site.

Membership to the BEDC Online Community is completely free and open to any nonprofit or individual engaged in commercial revitalization. When registering for membership on this website, users are asked to provide a limited amount of information such as a name, address, and e-mail address. This information is used primarily to verify your identify as an eligible user and will not be provided to any third party without your permission. 

When you sign up for an account, the e-mail address you provide will receive a daily digest e-mail of all changes made to the Online Community website. You can opt-out of receiving this e-mail, or customize the types of updates that you would like to receive, at any time by accessing the "Subscriptions" link under "My Account." Your e-mail address may also be added to our CEDC e-mail listserv, which connects hundreds of individuals in New York City who are interested in community development issues. If you are a member of this list and would like to opt-out, you may do so at any time by sending an e-mail with any text to cedc-unsubscribe@npogroups.org.

The Online Community website does not collect information from unregistered users, except those users who post comments to blog entries. These users are asked to provide a name and e-mail address for verification purposes, although the default name given is "Anonymous." This e-mail address will not be displayed or added to our subscription lists and will not be provided to any third party without your permission.

This privacy policy is subject to change at any time without notice. Any changes to this policy will be reflected on the "Privacy, Terms & Conditions" page of the Online Community website.
