Inaugural Brooklyn session of BoardServeNYC

Region:
Brooklyn
Wednesday, February 10, 2010 9:00am - 12:00pm
Brooklyn Community Foundation and the United Way of New York City invite you to participate in the inaugural Brooklyn session of BoardServeNYC.

BoardServeNYC provides local nonprofits with training sessions, ‘tune-up’ tools for sitting boards, access to matching and referral services, live recruitment events, and more. Best of all, as part of this initiative the Foundation and United Way are hosting a special training  session for Brooklynites who want to serve their communities by considering Board service. We hope that by holding these special Brooklyn sessions for both volunteers and nonprofit organizations it will increase the number of successful Board placements.

Please join us for a 3-hour orientation session that will help your nonprofit assess its board needs, build a recruitment plan, and review best governance practices. Sessions are open to executive directors and board members and are free to New York City nonprofits of all types.
