Managing a City Contract can entail a steep learning curve for a nonprofit organization. Nonprofits must comply with stringent requirements and may be intimidated by the overall process. This course is designed to support organizations with peer learning, a discussion on the financial responsibilities of contracting, nonprofit perspectives on successfully working with city government and some of the resources nonprofit vendors need to be successful. Specifically, the course will cover budget allocation, credit resources and city contract basics. Targeted to directors, executive staff and fiscal staff of NYC vendors.
Vendor Registration

About us: The CBO unit was developed to strengthen the effectiveness of nonprofits’ internal oversight through free training and reviews of nonprofit vendors, identifying potential risks and correcting problems before they interrupt City funding. CBO partners with City agencies, not-for-profit umbrella organizations, technical assistance organizations and nonprofit service providers to build capacity in fiscal management and corporate governance. CBO provides individual assistance using an assessment tool, the Nonprofit Capacity Building and Oversight Review Report. Through the review process, a CBO Analyst works with the nonprofit provider to review organizational capacity, pinpoint areas of potential risk or outdated policies, and identify the resources needed to implement best practices. In addition to providing individualized reviews of organizational policies and governance practices, CBO works directly with nonprofit vendors to facilitate the sharing of best practices and to maximize access to training resources.
