NYC Department of Finance has implemented a new change for real estate tax exemptions. If you received a not-for-profit exemption renewal form from the Department of Finance, sent on September 19, 2011, please complete the renewal letter and return it to the Department of Finance. It is a time-sensitive document and needs to be submitted to them by October 24th. If you know of any organization that will also be affected by this change, please inform them of this new requirement asap with a note of high importance so they are aware.

On Monday, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg answered the ceremonial '100 millionth' call to the 311 Customer Service Center. As the City's single phone number for all non-emergency government information and services, 311 has received more than 100 million calls since its March 2003 inception. 311 has been utilized to hold City agencies accountable for results and has been a catalyst for the development of new, more efficient delivery of City services.

This report is a result of a year-long review of the BDD Program and outlines important changes being made to the program. In addition to programmatic changes, in the report you will see our key findings based on our survey of BDD branches and community organizations, and two public hearings that solicited testimonies from 16 financial institutions, 11 community organizations and seven public officials.
