Recently, I participated in an neighborhood development initiative called Rolling Up the Gates that is making a real difference in filling vacancies in commercial districts in Brooklyn. This creative initiative was started on Myrtle Avenue in 2002 by the Local Development Corporation and was recognized by Mayor Bloomberg at the Annual Neighborhood Awards at Gracie Mansion.
